< fireworks >

So I feel like a broken record lately... but in a good way. Jacob achieved another FIRST over this holiday - he overcame his fear of fireworks! It only took a little bribe - er, I mean distraction - to get him to sit outside and enjoy the neighborhood fireworks show.

We were even able to enjoy the fireworks at MTSU last night since we had such good luck with the neighboorhood display. We heard the Nashville Symphony Orchestra play some patriotic numbers while we watched a great fireworks display. The finale was especially awesome! Not as good as the fireworks Joe and I saw in DC 5 years ago, but still great for this area. We also lucked out and got a great parking spot. We were outta there almost immediately after the last ember hit the ground - didn't get stuck in traffic at all.

We are planning to make an evening of it at MTSU next year, complete with a picnic and all. We don't really have a good 4th tradition, so we're looking to establish one. We'll welcome anyone who wants to join us... it's never too early to start planning!

Didn't you say you were the family who did nothing? What a great Fourth! Caroline was way too freaked out...at least I have hope for next year. ;)
