< happy mama's day >

I got the *best* gift from Jacob (with Joe being the mastermind and Jacob being the one to execute). Joe got me a 'talking' picture frame. He printed a picture of Jacob with his Magna-Doodle and recorded the following message:

"Mommy! Hi Mommy. It's Jacob. I love you!"

So now anytime I turn the lights on/off I can hear that sweet little voice. Who would've thought a gift from Radio Shack could bring tears to your eyes?! :-)

Today was Parent/Child dedication at church. Jacob did NOT want to be quiet... he wanted to say 'hi' to Dean, our pianist, and play with my hair and make silly noises. When Bro. Tony got to us, he said, "This is Jacob and he's a talker. If he's thinking, he's talking... and he's thinking all the time" or something to that effect. TRUE! They gave the children Bibles and a certificate, and Jacob said, "Thank you!" when Bro. Tony handed him his gifts. :-) At least he's a polite chatter. When I told him to tell Mamaw what he got at church today, his reply was "Be quiet". He did get a lot of that!!

Back to my gift - I think it meant so much to me b/c just this time last year, this little boy wasn't talking. At ALL. I think the extent of his vocabulary was 'da'. DA for everything. Boy, has he come a long way in the past year. God has blessed us in so many ways.

I'll leave you with a recent picture. Good week to all!
