We started the day out by wearing BIG BOY UNDERWEAR instead of diapers. He went the whole time at school without an accident (but did have 2 accidents today while we were home).
We celebrated with a party with our Red Room friends - cupcakes and juice. They sang Happy Birthday to Jacob. After that, he asked me to "sing happy birthday in Spanish". Made the mistake of doing it last night... apparently he likes it. I've sang it several more times since. :)
I put 3 little candles on his cupcake for him to blow out... and *we* blew them out, only to have them light up again. I blew them out again, and again they lit back up. I mistakenly put trick candles on his cake - how cruel is that? It's not like he was physically able to blow the past 2 years, and the first year that he can... I give him the funny candles. *bad mommy* We're going to give it another try on Saturday with a NORMAL CANDLE.

It was so cute to see Jacob in his classroom dancing and interacting with his friends. Here's one more picture from today, taken while they were singing his favorite song "Aiken Drum".
...and he played upon a ladle and his name was Aiken Drum!
