< road trip to Memphis >

Just posting a quick one after returning home from our trip to Memphis - we met our dear friends, the Rowells, there for a visit. We became friends while living in Delaware and haven't seen each other since around September of 2004... too long, for sure! We ate at the famous Rendezvous, went to the zoo, walked down Beale Street... but the highlight was just spending time with our friends.

This is sweet McKenna, or Ka-Ka as her mom and dad call her. She is a beautiful little girl with all the spunk and personality you could imagine. I actually had the privilege of being in the hospital room when she was born - you always hear it, but it truly was the most amazing thing to witness. Just something about watching a miracle unfold and the emotions they experienced during that time.

Jacob and McKenna hit it off beautifully. She made sure to hold his hand pretty regularly, and Jacob actually played with her. It was such a sweet thing to see them hit it off. See???

The wedding plans are already in the works! We love this family and thank God for placing them into our lives at just the right time, and for the friendship that endures across the miles.

You can just tell McKenna, "Hands off!" I'm already making plans for Caroline! She's gonna need a smart, steady boy like Jacob. :)

Someone needs to teach that little man that at three years old we kiss with our mouth CLOSED! Ha. Sorry, couldn't resist. Great pics.
