Some of you know that I am a lover of all things Pottery Barn. I adore the catalog and consider it my favorite decorating inspiration. I consider the style to be contemporary~classic... just my style. I especially love the ways they display photos... very cool. I have a few (okay, 50?) old catalogs laying around that are 'marked' with projects that I want to do. For example, when I decided it was time to decorate our bedroom... well, you know I just pulled out my 2006 Pottery Barn winter catalog... and that's exactly what I'd been wanting to do with my room, you know?
ANYway... I got my 2007 Holiday catalog a few days ago and sat down to devour the pages after Jacob was in bed. I turned to page 28, and saw something that I really loved, but that was not for sale.

So I decided to make them myself!! This was before signing up for the Holiday Crafting Project in the previous post. I must be feeling crafty - when that happens, I know I'd better act on it b/c ya never know when the feeling will fade. =)
You may hate them... but I LOVE them... and I made 2 for my bedroom:
$1 - for a sack full of old books from the library
$6 - for the sheer ribbon/garland that I used to hang them
$0 - used cardboard that I had laying around for the wreath 'form'
Total cost: $7You could totally get away with doing this for free, depending on the stuff you already had on hand. I wanted blue velvet ribbon to match my walls/bedding, but was unable to find any so I went with the sheer stuff. If I happen to come across "the ribbon", I'll probably switch it out. Also, one of the books I used was circa 1895! Talk about some crumbly pages... I'll bet you can pick them out easily. =)
