< the best job >

I always thought I would be a career-kind-of-girl... never put marriage high on the list, and I never planned on having children.

I have been your mom now for just as long as I was the microbiologist, or the quality engineer. I can say with complete certainty that being your mommy is the best 'career' that I could ever hope to have. There's nothing so bad that can happen to me that hearing your sweet voice say, "I love you, Mommy" cannot drive away. You challenge me to learn new things every day. You give me opportunities to practice patience. You make me laugh at the silly things you do and say. You amaze me at the things you know and understand. You make my heart burst open with pride. I am thankful that God saw fit to weave another career path into my "plan". And I'm thankful that I can get a glimpse at how much He loves me by just knowing the extent of the love I have for you.... how much more does He love us? It's indescribable.

I love being your mommy, Jacob - and I love you.

Court,
I seriously never knew you never planned on having children. You're SO good at it - funny how our plans are not always OURS. ;) Love you.
