< exploring nature >

Today we took advantage of the freedom that is the homeschool schedule and went on a nature walk before doing any other "school work". We had a great time observing the flora and fauna near our house. My intention is to try to identify the things we see by taking pictures and then researching field guides and/or the internet. The rain had just stopped a bit earlier in the morning, making for a muddy and slippery hike; let's just say I almost lost a camera today!!

Anytime we go for a hike, Jacob always finds a walking stick. Joe bought him a trekking pole, but unless it's a stick found in the woods, it just won't do. =)

I LOVE it! Am I'm so thrilled you are taking advantage of the flexibility and opportunities that homeschooling provides. Jacob is getting so big. Tell my buddy I said hello.
