< how i became the best mom ever >

Otherwise known as "the day we played with water". =)

We were reviewing capacity and measurement in Jacob's math workbook, when I got the wild hair that it would be WAY more fun to actually measure water than to look at boring B/W line drawings in a textbook.

We splashed and played and learned about teaspoons, tablespoons, cups, pints, quarts, liters & gallons...

We broke out those new IKEA funnels and practiced pouring...

We talked about mass, displacement of water and why a small paper clip sinks and a green pepper floats...

And we changed the density of the water by adding salt and testing our objects again...

Then Jacob squealed with delight, "You. Are. The. Best. Mom. EVER!"

Note to self: to keep morale high, plan an experiment for every day of the week!

Who would have seen (much less captured)that expression on his face had he not been in your kitchen during this learning time? I agree with Jacob!
