< faithful strokes >

There are certain subjects that I just don't feel qualified to teach to Jacob... things that I'm not particularly good at or interested in, but I still feel that his exposure to said subjects is valuable. ART is definitely high on that list. I feel like I got ripped off somehow - because my mom can do anything with her hands, especially play the piano and paint. Thankfully, she is willing to drag out the paint and get artsy with Jacob whenever they are together.

A friend recently told me about a new homeschool art class here in town, so Jacob and I decided to check it out today. There were about 10 kids in the class - 4 boys & 6 girls. Miss Lisa worked with the children for about 2 hours while they transformed a blank canvas into a painting ready to take home. Today's painting focused on the upcoming fall season with some pumpkin action.

Here's little Picasso taking a snack break:

When asked what was his favorite thing about art class, he said, "The snack. Oh yeah, and the painting!" I'm thinking he might have taken after his mama... =)
