< in front of the camera >

We did something on vacation that we hadn't done since Jacob was 3 months old....

...we had family pictures made.

These aren't your 'classic beach portraits' with the khaki and white against the sea oats - and NO I'm not knocking that style, it can be really pretty. But I wanted something a little different for our family. .. something fresh and fun. I didn't want a lot of posed "everyone look here and say cheese"... I wanted someone to capture our family just being us. Someone to get a fresh perspective on Jacob.

Enter Trista Blouin. She was great with Jacob and was happy to talk numbers with him. She gave us general 'set the scene' instructions and just let us be. She even captured some close-ups of just Jacob and I. During our phone consultation I told her that I am never in front of the camera, I am always behind it... and that while I don't love the way I look, I really wanted to have a photo with me in it. That Jacob doesn't care what I look like, he still loves me just as I am. So she shot away while we sang Snuggle Puppy and traded sweet little kisses. I can't wait to see them. We should see them all in a couple of weeks.

Trista has posted a couple more 'sneak peek' photos on her blog. You can take a look by clicking HERE. If you visit her blog, be sure to leave a comment! As a matter of fact, if you are reading this blog... you should leave ME a comment. Let me know who's out there! ;) If you're ever in the Pensacola/Gulf Shores area and looking for a photographer, I highly recommend Trista... tell her the Sharpie guy sent you. ;)

Look at these sweet feet!
