It has been unusually quiet at my house. My parents had a beef "processed" (that's the nice way for saying slaughtered for meat) and I had to be there to pick up my share on Thursday morning. Mamaw and Papaw wanted Jacob to spend a few days with them before Kindergarten starts, so we're picking him up today after church. Now I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy this little bit of silence that I've had. Time to listen to my own thoughts. Time to exercise without guilt. Time to cook 20 meals for my OAMC group. Time to enjoy a movie with my husband. Time to have dinner and a Wii date with friends. I think we all need some of that time to recharge and refresh our outlook.
But now... I sure am ready to hear that sweet little voice again. The hundreds of "I love you, Mommy"s I get each and every day. The sweet little hugs and kisses. The daily adventures of Peter and Sam... and 6 & 9. The never ending questions and commentary. All the little crumbs in the floor where he eats. Being awoken at six-something by him climbing into bed with me, saying, "I'm ready for my breakfast now, Mommy!" Him running to find me every time he hears this song on Noggin, screaming "MOM! Your song is on the TV!" and proceeding to sing it with me.It's when he is away that we realize our life just wouldn't be the same without him. He just adds so much LIVING to our life. Can't wait to see you, little buddy!

I love the crocs in the picture--very farmer like! hee hee Oh and do I remember the days of going to pick up our 1/4 of a cow from my Papa and Granny's house.....those were the days. Speaking of that is a very good idea I have not thought of recently...I should look into it...probably really expensive...hmmmm
