< california - day 2 >

Highlights from Day 2:
  • Looking at the houses near the water - I loved all the iron gates, interesting doors and the vertical landscaping. Lots of colorful shrubs growing up the sides of the buildings and flowers trailing down.
  • Viewing Bay Bridge from Chrissy Field - lots of people with dogs here, almost like a doggy playgroup. There were lots of people jogging and walking along the bay here.
  • Walked to the Palace of Fine Arts - very cool architecture and interesting wildlife. We saw a raccoon throw down on a turtle!
  • Lunch @ Village Pizza
  • Alcatraz Tour - we almost didn't make this. We hopped on the F Line and it was SO crowded and SO slow, we thought we could walk faster... so off we hopped. We were wrong! So we busted it to get up to the dock on time.
  • Fisherman's Wharf and dinner at Bubba Gumps - touristy but we were so worn out from the running for the tour, we didn't care. I did like at Bubba Gumps how they have license plates to tell your server when to stop. I think every restaurant should adopt that genius idea! We were able to hop a cable car back towards the hotel.
