< the neck hole >

I put Jacob down for a "nap" today at 2:00 pm. This story begins at 4:30 pm when I go into his room to get him up from his "non-sleeping-nap". I walked in to find him just as I'd left him...in the same t-shirt and shorts that he wore to school this morning. However, something seemed to be just a little bit different. It finally hit me that the neck hole on his t-shirt was really, REALLY stretched. It was hanging down over his shoulder on one side.

Me: Buddy... what happened to your shirt? It's all stretched!

Jacob: Welllllll, I had to pull it down like this (over his KNEES, mind you) because I was the kangaroo. I was the momma kangaroo and Peter was the baby kangaroo. I had to pull it down so that I could make him a pouch. He got in the pouch and rode around and around, but then he got out and decided to become a rabbit again.

Me: (what can you say to that??? I just went with it.)

So we ate at Applebee's tonight and went to Walmart for a few necessities... and ALL NIGHT LONG that t-shirt was slipping over his shoulder. Here's to hoping that a cycle in HOT will shrink it back to normal! =)

BTW... here's a picture of momma and baby kangaroo:

Too funny! That's where my Jake "stores" his lovey sometimes. The things they come up with!
