< bellobration >

A couple of weeks ago, we went with Jacob's preschool class to the circus in Nashville. Joe took the day off and we made a family day of it. The plan was to just meet his teachers and classmates up there, but when we went to school to get our tickets before heading out... his teacher asked if Jacob wanted to ride the bus. I was like, "Nah... he'll just ride with us." But then I got to thinking about all the times he has said, "Wow, look at that school bus!" or "I wish I was big enough to ride the bus"... or the excitement he gets when he sees a Rover bus around town. SO I decided to let him ride up with his little friends on the bus.

When we got into the Sommet Center and found the group, Miss Lisa (his teacher) said, "Now I know why you wanted him to ride the bus. He talked the entire way there... saying "Which exit is the circus? How many more miles? Look, we're on exit #56". HAHA - you got that right, sister. We did enjoy some peace and quiet and a little uninterrupted conversation.

The absolute cutest thing about the entire circus trip was that Jacob sat next to his little #1 girlfriend, Carrie. It was so cute to see them talking... and she even put her arm around him and gave him a little hug! His #2 girlfriend, Dalynn, was also there... but it was all about Carrie. I wish I had a picture of the hug, but this is as good as it gets. You can see her talking to her mom in the background.

The theme of the show we saw was Bellobration (hence the title). Bello was the main character, and was Jacob's favorite. He had to know where Bello was at all times. Here's a picture of him - he has crazy hair, doesn't he? That stuff was real, too! He came up in the audience to get some children to participate in the show. Jacob was waving and saying, "Hey Bello... HI!" and was excited when Bello turned to him and said Hi right back to him. =)

He really liked pretty much everything except for when they shot 2 people out of the cannon... it really hurt his ears. Thankfully, that was near the end of the show because I'm not sure if he would have lasted much longer after that. He said he wanted to ride the bus back to the school... so we let him. Here he is with Miss Trish as they wait for the school bus to come pick them up.

We tried to catch the bus arriving back at school so I could get a picture of his first school bus ride... but we missed them. But I guess there will be plenty of opportunities to capture that as he enters Kindergarten in the fall and takes all sorts of field trips. It'll be here before we know it!

Could someone please take my child to the circus? Because I will not. I have serious clown issues and elephants in captivity are a whole other thing!
